
Torill Kove, an animator from Montreal, made this film for the National Film Board of Canada. It is narrated by famous Norwegian actress, Liv Ulmann.
The Danish Poet is the second film for Torill Kove to be nominated for an Oscar. The first was My Grandmother Ironed the King's Shirts in 2000.

ReplyDeleteOk I have a question about these short subject nominees. When does one typically come across these films? I've never seen any of them in movie theaters...am I just going to the wrong movies? :S
Showing shorts before movies is not a common practice anymore. In fact, I think Pixar is the only one to really do it.
ReplyDeleteThese films run the festival circuit and that is how people see them. You should go to more film festivals.
