ZIM AND LITTLE PRINCE SKETCHES

Over the weekend I drew some pictures while watching tv. They are all done in pencil on 8.5'x10' paper.

The first is Gir and his classic 'explode from inside the turkey' bit. The second is the Little Prince from the show of the same name. Here he is riding a comet to another world for crazy adventures.

I've also included some older pics of Hank and the crew from King of the Hill and Marsupilami.

FRIDAY THEME SONG: MISTER T

For all of you who are new to this blog (which would be everyone since this blog is new), every Friday I will post a theme song to a cartoon television show. Every month will have a theme.

August's theme: 80s cartoons with action heroes that shouldn't be as popular as they are.

Mister T

Here, Mister T is a gymnastics coach who travels around the world with his students sloving mysteries. Just like Chuck Norris Karate Kommandos, Mister T has a live action segment at the beginning an a moral at the end.

This show did better than Chuck's. It lasted thirty episodes. Both shows can now be seen on Cartoon Network every weekday morning at 5.

This month also featured these theme songs:

Hammerman
Prostars
Jackson 5ive
Camp Candy
Jackie Chan Adventures

WELCOME TO MY BLOG

Hello to all of you and welcome to my new blog! I have been posting on my myspace blog for about two weeks now and have discovered that outside viewers cannot view it. You have to be a myspace member.

So I have created another blog. A real blog. One to share with the world! I will continue to post on the myspace blog as well as this one a I will see which one will be more popular. Let me know what you prefer by leaving your comments.

I will repost the last few posts off the myspace blog for you to see. But first, a little about my self.

I work as a PA at an animation studio called Vanguard Animation up here in Beautiful British Columbia. We are currently starting production on a CG feature called Space Chimps. It's due out in 2008. Part of this blog will keep you up to date on the progress of this film (as much as I can considering all the legal issues that would arise should I spoil the plot and stuff).

I grew up during the 90s at the peak of Disney's modern animated feature film era (Beauty and the Beast, Lion King, et al) and with their weekday afternoon television series (DuckTales, Goof Troop, et al).

As I entered high school I realized how many other cartoons there were out there. Hanna Barbera, Warner Brothers, Nickolodeon. And was also introduced to the world of anime although it never took a hold of me like it does to so many.

After high school I got a job which meant I had money which meant I could buy lots of dvds. This expanded my knowledge of cartoons as I would buy everything I could get my hands on. Good or bad, new or old, I would buy it and watch it all.

I love the history of animation, in particular the theatrical cartoons of the 30s and 40s. A few months ago I started an animation group that met once every two weeks. I host the event at my house with the intent to teach people the history of cartoons as well as introduce people to other people with the same interest. This is open to everyone if you are in the area.

In this blog you will find out my likes and dislikes. I will share my thoughts and comments with you and hopefully I will teach you a thing or two. I will also post some off my sketches and drawings. Please leave your comments. I really want to know what you think about these subjects.

Stay frosty.
Toast!
